Five Riverside holiday accommodation with amazing views of the River Tees and Barnard Castle
Five Riverside comprises self-catering/holiday accommodation in a Grade II listed house on the riverside in Barnard Castle. The house is in a unique location. It sleeps six very comfortably and offers amazing views of the River Tees and Barnard Castle’s castle.
Situated in Teesdale, Five Riverside is in the perfect location for walking, bird watching, photography and touring the wonderful North East. Barnard Castle is a lovely market town to wander around. The centre is only a 5-minute walk away.
What makes Five Riverside unique?
It just has to be the location. Few views can top the one from the large sash windows on the riverside of the house. Watch the River Tees in all its many forms (and depths). Enjoy the backdrop of the 12th century English Heritage castle with its own views over the Tees Gorge. The house is Grade II listed. It has an airy light feel and exceptional views from the riverside and gable end rooms.
Five Riverside was refurbished in 2016 and is furnished in a style which should make you feel happy and relaxed.
The entrance is on the ground floor, which leads to a cloakroom (extremely tiny but very convenient!) and the kitchen/dining area. This area is the most beautiful of this house with a modern kitchen, magnificent dining table and views from the big sash windows on two sides of the River Tees and the castle.
Stairs lead to the lower level where you will find a comfortable lounge with plenty of sitting space and a wall-mounted TV. There is terrestrial TV and a licence for the property.
On the first floor are three light and airy bedrooms and a large bathroom with a separate shower. Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed and views downriver; bedroom 2 has a double bed and view over the river and the castle, and bedroom 3 is a large twin room.
Beside the house are steps to the riverside (only accessible when the river is low!) and an opportunity to see the varied wildlife (particularly birds) close up. There are beautiful riverside walks both upstream and downstream – explore!
